Hey everyone! Does anyone here use LaunchDarkly and plans on going to re:Invent? I'm partnering with AWS and would love to feature your use case in an interview like this.

Anyone has a diagram of a team topology that fits with multi service/deployment (per customer) environment? Is there an Operations team managing the deployment/upgrades? Since each deployment is unique.. Trying to wrap my head around this bit.

Howdy folks 🤠 Sharing a blog post I published last week about the wonderful world of Wasm! As Wasm gains momentum across a broad spectrum of use cases (both client and server side), providing a first class Wasm devX will become an increasingly important objective for Platform Teams. The blog covers 1) a landscape of Wasm dev tools (e.g., build tools, runtimes, app platforms, edge faas providers), 2) emerging use cases, 3) key steps needed to unlock broader industry adoption of Wasm (e.g. advancement of standards) and more!! Curious if anyone is experimenting with Wasm today and/or already running in prod?

🚀New article out on platformengineering.org! Learn how to find the actual goal of one’s platform initiative, where to start when building an Internal Developer Platform, how developer portals are often the first touch point, but do not make up for the whole IDP and the importance of thinking about platform orchestration first. As always, let me know what you think about it! https://platformengineering.org/blog/what-to-build-first-the-house-or-the-front-door

Hi! I’ve just received an email about invitation declined a few hours before the event starts. One of my teammates received an acceptance but he is probably not going if I’m not able to join. Is it possible to join the party if a friend has access even I had declined the invitation?

I think this kind of acceptance/declination should be taken in action some days ago, so we could plan other choices tonight…

Is anyone here working in a company that requires their app to host thousands or even millions of images on s3 or something similar? I’d love to chat about your challenges, I have an idea brewing but want to validate the problem first.

Here is a "fun" article for Halloween 🎃 My team and I experienced different production issues in our career. Some of them were really stressful and if you are running production workload for your company, I think it can be interesting to share also your unlucky experience with the others :) it helps to see that it can happen to anyone. Even the best 😅 So, what was your most unlucky experience in production? https://www.qovery.com/blog/5-developer-horror-stories-by-the-qovery-team

Is there a matrix of features and products that meet those features? If not, how can someone create this matrix? I ask because I am not clear on what all features an IDP should have and it is hard to understand each product to find the right fit.

Hey guys, The latest edition of Technology Radar — volume 27 — is now live. Link In addition to 103 blips, we also have four themes to highlight: • The Mainstreaming of ML In little more than a decade, machine learning has moved from a highly specialized technique to something that almost anyone with data and computational power can do. This is to be welcomed, but demands caution and care. • The Power of Platforms as a Product A platform can be powerful for empowering developers. However, it’s important that they’re built and maintained in a way that responds to and mediates the needs of both technical teams and the wider organization. • Moving Data Ownership to the Edges When it comes to data, centralization can be constrictive. New techniques and tools, however, are making it easier to overcome the challenges of centralization. • Mobile Should Be Modular, Too The benefits of modularity are well-known, but they haven’t been leveraged as much as you might expect in mobile development. This is now starting to change; a modular approach to mobile can improve both the quality of mobile applications and the experience of building them. Hope you can enjoy it. 😉

Open question to the community: • AWS is complex, I understand it has a lot of moving parts and possibilities. But why not use something simpler like www.vultr.com and save on the overhead?

Hello! Another Open Question: Im evaluating Backstage, but, I would like to know what other similar platforms/tools are you using / evaluating. Any opinions? Long history: Why??? Here Meli (www.mercadolivre.com.br) we have our own platform, called Fury. Fury have a high level of maturity (Ill share detail soon in some session, we are schedulling - from nerd to nerd - I don’t want to sell anything 😛 - but want to learn 🧑‍🎓). I would like to learn more about other platforms. Already studied Backstage and understood its pros and cons, and Ill be investing in some good concepts that I learn, and also, we are evaluating contribute with some plugin.

Hello All, I request for suggestions on our requirement - as part of aws training if we have to give access to AWS console to students - like aws playgrounds, sandbox environments which we see these days, how can we track them, remove what they created later - how can we restrict them to certain things
