Hello all, my name is Mouhsen Ibrahim, I come from Syria, moved to Hamburg Germany in 2021 to work as a Site Reliability Engineer for a company called freiheit which means freedom in German, before freiheit I worked as Linux Systems Administrator where I built scalable, highly available web, database, search and file clusters. I love working on Linux and learning about its internals whenever I have time. I currently work on my own private project to build monorepo management tool that helps developers to build, test, publish and deploy all kinds of resources and only do this for changed resources since last build, test, publish or deploy. I will soon release an alpha version and hopefully talk about it here. Thanks for having me here and looking forward to learn from each one of you 🙂

    Udi Hofesh

    08/23/2022, 3:19 PM
Hi everyone! I’m Udi, DevRel at Komodor! 👋 The team at Komodor is working on a new open-source project (it’s the second one after ValidKube), and I wanted to get a sense of the pain some of you may be experiencing with Helm. Particularly around areas like; understanding how certain charts have changed over time, which charts that I’m using are out-of-date, examining how a new deploy is going to look like (vs the current version), and understanding the status of objects related to the helm chart, etc....How hard and time-consuming is it for you? All answers and feedback are welcome :) if you want to take part or contribute feel free to DM me or email me at udi@komodor.com Just to pick your curiosity, the project will be a visual dashboard for Helm that will wrap in a local web UI the option to:
    Examine the current state:
    > What helm applications are in my cluster, their version, what resources are controlled by them
Learn how my helm release changed over time:
    > What values were used in each revision?
    > Diff between versions
Change the state of my helm chart:
    > Is there a newer version for my charts?
    > Deploy and validate a new revision and see the diff prior to that
    > Rollback to a previous version and see the diff prior to that

Hi Everyone. Im not a platform engineer myself but have been in the past. Now a senior engineering manager, I'm looking at options around spinning up a lightweight internal platform for a small org that sits in quite a technically challenging space (energy) . Lots to consider, but currently product focussed squads are dealing with far too much cognitive load in my opinion

Hey folks, Currently the VP of Engineering at Inspectiv.com a Vulnerability Detection Platform company. Looking for what other people are doing with cloud and platform best practices as I am starting a bit from scratch again (the fun part!). Previously ran everything from on-prem to cloud workloads in GCP & AWS and built data and high availability platforms at a few startups. Looking for simple, not easy, solutions to hard problems as I start scaling this next company.

Hey all 👋, I'm Director of Cloud Engineering for a product design and technology innovation consultancy; we work to deliver client solutions that span the physical and digital worlds. There is two angle to my interest in Platform Engineering: • Our client projects: we've tended to approach ever engagement as greenfield, but as more and more of our project teams are working on digital services we're finding there is duplication of effort/ re-inventing the wheel in the underlying platform (the undifferentiating heavy lifting). I'm trying to wrap my head around the relevance/ applicability of platform engineering in this scenario, having not long come out of a product company where platform engineering was very mature. • Our internal projects: having an IDP to reduce time to value, cost and enable rapid experimentation seems like a no-brainer.
