Hey everyone, I’m a platform engineer with 20 years of software engineering experience. I’ve been working to start my own consulting business focused specifically on helping companies build out their IDPs. I truly love this work and I believe that many companies could benefit from a well planned and designed platform and team. Please reach out if you are trying to navigate yourself through this journey.

Hi everyone 🙂 I’m a Platform Engineer at Codurance, currently supporting a client that are building an employee management application hosted on physical servers in their datacentre, but in a cloud native architecture, so that when a cloud provider opens a region in their country, they hope to migrate it into the cloud

Hello everyone. Nice to be here. I am the practice lead for Modern-App platforms at ITQ, a consultancy and major VMware partner in the Netherlands. I help our customers build modern-app platforms using VMware's Tanzu product suite. If anyone else here is using that toolset, I would be interested to know you. Our ambition is to eventually deliver 'turnkey' container platforms or full IDP 'solutions' to customers, either based on VMware tooling, or complete open-source. So naturally I take a broad interest in tooling, practices, and just where everyone is headed 🙂 I come from an Infra background, having focused mostly on Storage and VMware stuff, been shifting into cloud-native and k8s for the past 3 years now. I am still very much in learning-mode 😛

Hey, all 👋 I am a freelance software engineer with over 10 years of experience in Development and Operations. Node.js backend development, owning two popular libraries.. Trying to reduce complexities for my clients applying DevOps methodologies. Spent a bit of time in a Kubernetes world, but lately I'm dekubernetesing it on a few projects (Either AWS EC2 ASG or Docker Swarm) to ease my customers' lives a bit and to make them happy. I'm passionate about software architecture. Feel free to shoot me a message if you need help organizing tech at your startup! https://www.mariokozjak.com/about https://github.com/elpheria/rpc-websockets (powering the Solana js world and a huge amounts of Web 3 projects) https://github.com/mkozjak/node-telnet-client (tackling TCP all around the world!) 🎉

Hello :blob-waver: I’m Abhijit. Working as a Platform Tech lead for a media organisation in Sydney, Australia 🇦🇺. I’ve been a backend developer for more than a decade, and have developed using languages such as C/C++, Java & Python. Of late our organisation has made strides towards adopting Platform Engineering approach since we are pretty much cloud native and use a microservices driven design approach. I hope to learn and understand much more about it out here.

Hi everyone 👋 I’m Kevin, Infrastructure Engineer at Zweitag, a digital agency in Münster, Germany. I’m quite happy to have found this community, since I’m currently planning and implementing a IDP for our developers. We tried to launch a product as well (SetOps), which provides a really simple way of managing and deploying software to your own AWS account. Although we use in in production for Zweitag and run around 100 containers on it, we were not able to create enough buzz externally to get people onto the platform. Now I’m evaluating if I will continue developing SetOps for us internally or switch to another solution. The main challenge: we only have 1-2 people working on providing the platform. Looking at a solution including Kubernetes, Crossplane, Backstage, ArgoCD, etc. I’m wondering if this is feasible to do. Looking forward to be part of this community and to exchange Ideas 🙂

Hello Everyone, I run Platform Operations at a 50 person sports tech startup. We're building capabilities for our java/Python services (compute+db) for autoscaling using AWS services. I'm always curious to know what the community is doing to build Dev self-service capabilities for Devs to manage platforms (reliability, observability, security at scale). Happy to share experiences with Amazon aurora serverless v2, Bitbucket+BitOps for CI/CD, Newrelic and SOC2 compliance. Thank you.

Hello, everyone. My name is Oleg and I'm ... don't really know who I am at this moment. But it looks like I do some very similar to IDP things in my daily work. At my last work I created several Jenkins tasks for my coworkers from different teams (Unix, Windows, Enterprise) for quick and simplified deployments in Openstack and Openshift. Those tasks look like "give me two windows, one linux, one virtual network between them, two services with FTP and LDAP. etc", simple to run/simple to use. Currently I develop my Jenkins/JTE (jenkins template engine) libraries as an uniform tool for deploying ... everything. Yes, I consider such tools as products and my coworkers as clients. Even more, I want to discuss such things as "autowiring" between different services, because it's very important for effective IDP using.
