The aim of this group is to promote more face-to-face meetups in London, currently there are none. So would love to help organising these and connect with the local platform engineers here.

Hi Fellow Londoners (even tho I’m Geordie!!)

I’m very interested in this conversation. I’m part of a group of people that used to run a meetup called LOPUG (London Platform User Group). It’s not run for a long time but we (Syntasso, the company I work for) have been talking about resurrecting this for the same reasons outlined by @Gillian Nieboer.

I’d also love to start smaller tho. If folks would be interested in meeting for a coffee / beer / drink of your choice and just chat informally I would love to make that happen.

Had a chat with @Giulia Guizzardi today, and we're thinking of hosting a meetup in London somewhere in March for which we can use our office space in the city of London (max 100 people, should be enough 😉 ). Does anyone know some good platform engineering speakers in London? I'll also start scouting

Quick reminder as y'all okan travel for next week. CoffeeOps London will be in Shoreditch on Thursday morning! It's not technically a train strike day, but given it's a train strike week if you aren't on cycle/tube/bus connections I think it may be hard. But there will be more in the new year!

This morning was awesome! The very self selecting crew of people who met up in Old Street today (oddly) suggested we keep meeting in Old Street in the new year 😂 Does this group have any proposed other locations around the city that would be good? 💭

Ok so #CoffeeOps London is a proper go for 2023 🎉 We've been running since 2018, but went remote in 2020 (for obvious reasons). It's been such a success that we are keeping one remote friendly call a month on the 4th Tuesday over lunch. Our next remote call is next Tuesday at 1pm. But we are ALSO doing a monthly in person event thanks to @jonny s. hosting us in the Shoreditch Accurx offices. These will be the 2nd Thursday of the month and we kick off on Thursday Feb 7. Hope to see/meet a bunch of you at one of the events ☕🙌
