Could you clarify non cloud? Do you mean onPrem?
a
Hi @Andre Marcelo-Tanner - could be on-prem, self hosted, network, etc
t
I am at a robotics company. Currently, we are only responsible for cloud stuff. We plan on one day expanding into the robotics side of the org (firmware, software on the robots, software on the laptops that run the robots, etc). Not sure when that will actually happen though, not any time soon
a
That’s a super interesting use case @Tim Becker - what’s the thinking behind wanting to expand into that side of the business?
t
Ultimately our mission is to empower engineers to create exceptional products by making software effortless to build, deploy, and manage. That mostly applies to software engineers, but robotics writes a lot of software too. Especially on the “build” front, there can be a lot of crossover. But since the deployment and management is so different from the cloud, it might not make sense to have it all under one umbrella. So maybe we’ll instead have a similar team on the robotics side that we swap notes with.

Makes sense @Tim Becker, if I understand correctly, the platform team won’t actually support the robots themselves, but will support the software engineers who develop software for the robots - correct?
