Good day. I found @Manuel Pais (co-author Team Topologies) talk really useful. Thank you for a great presentation. I got one question. Are there any specific challenges or considerations when it comes to aligning the goals and processes of engineering teams with non-engineering departments in order to achieve faster flow of value to customers?

Thank you Terry. That's a great question which to me sounds like part of a bigger question of how to raise awareness of the impact of all teams on fast flow of value.
I think value stream mapping could help here.
Essentially taking a broader look at the flow of work in engineering.
Imagine a team needs some training to be able to learn some skill required for them to deliver value to customers.
Often we won't consider this training as part of the value stream.
But in fact if training budget and approval processes are complicated and slow, we're effectively delaying the delivery of value to customers.
Of course, we need to involve the people deciding on those processes for them to see the impact. Importantly, we can't judge them, we must show a focus on flow, not blaming.

Great idea to use value stream mapping. And I like your approach to involve people in processes more. Thank you for such a rich answer.
