Nice article. One thing that surprised me was to see the Principal Engineer role as a previous step to the Staff Engineer one. In my experience the order has been Staff, Senior Staff and then Principal but it may well vary per organization and countries.

@Javier Turegano — normally it’s how you’re describing it. I haven’t see a ladder that goes from a Principal to Staff, normally is the other way around. It’s a nice article indeed. 👏

Thanks both for your appreciations. I am working towards adding my two cents value to the greater platform engineering community. Yes, I could have replied the @Alex T. Thanks. On the other note , I was DMed by few other readers giving the same feedback . Will try addressing that in updated article .
Meanwhile , I would love to hear a community feedback on this article aswell , I do see platform engineers as silent ROCKSTARS hidden in the bigger landscape and I am trying my part to bring them to the limelight and explain to the industry how valueble their contributions are. https://medium.com/@vijay.chintha/platform-engineers-the-silent-rockstars-driving-tech-innovation-97c8d6866e38
