getport.io looks better but will have some other caveats

What looks better to you about Port? Just curious to learn what sort of things make people tickle about these tools.

I think port is not going for install and host angle, it's trying to minimize the complexity to get started, just works with SSO that you may have configured in your org and tries to simplify user input. I just left a shop that had gone all in on backstage and I felt trouble would eventually rear it's heads with that dependency sooner or later

Ah, you mean Port looks better than Backstage? I thought you meant it looks better than OpsLevel, apologies. Yeah definitely a lot easier to use, that's the idea

What's your take on OpsLevel, you hitting some friction? Are you far down the path there?

I just gave OpsLevel and Port as examples because they look the best out of all the commercial offerings I've seen. Port seems to be more customizable but I prefer OpsLevel cleaner (perhaps more intuitive?) design. Both seem pretty great. Saying that I should take some time at some point and take them and others for a spin in depth and then do a write up. The motivation to write this post was because I have fellow engineers that tell me how management is trying to goad then to implement backstage without knowing the full implications
