if i had to pick only one, helm would win in a split decision. helm is better for 3rd party consumption and publishing to downstream public users but kustomize is arguably more streamlined for internal deploys or for customization of 3rd party manifest-based projects that don’t publish helm charts and expect you to kustomize.
