Yeah, sorry, bailing on this 😂 The thing I used last time requires scrolling through all of your org's custom emoji to save them to browser cache, then an extension to download them, then another manual process to upload them all to the new place. As Zach said, awful lot of noise in that signal. We'll have to live with one-off requests.
There could be better tools, but sadly I still have a day job 😞

Having no homer hide emoji here is quite disappointing
z
thats an easy one to get though
I already added shrug dog
homer hide
there you go

Telegram handles it better, with share-able sticker packs and emoji packs.
z
I'm actually shocked that this slack allows unrestricted upload of new emojis
a
This particular instance, or overall?
z
the slack workspace yah
some other public ones I'm in the workspace admins approve all custom emoji
keeps all the weird crap out

Is this what you were looking to use? https://github.com/matthugs/emojisplosion
j
thanks for asking. i was mostly looking to get the classic github explosion, cisco explosion emojis, that type of thing
r
That was more directed at Philbrook, above is a tool from a former Wayfairian for downloading emojis
n
Ah, yeah, I think those instruction are out of date. They start out similar to the ones here https://medium.com/@dan.chiniara/how-to-bulk-transfer-slack-emojis-without-admin-privileges-e0eb866770b3 But I couldn't find any of the network URLs that were expected, or I didn't have access to them, anyway I gave up for today. Maybe another day.
r
I have the response, going to try a downlaod 🤞
n
These instructions from your repo have more "if that doesn't work" steps so they may still work
I have nicholson nodding now, that's all I personally require
r
It didn't like the alias notation, so I removed all those from the response, but for some reason it stopped without error after downloading 11
Here's a mapping of emoji name to url, so folks can at least download source images and add manually

ahhh a classic, who could forget that one
r
Download script doesn't like single quotes in emoji names. It works with the following input file. (aliases and single quote emojis removed)
