Anyone took the paxlovid?

Other than pills tasting terrible it was fine, I think there was a small rebound of fever
a
yes, taste seemed to be the only side effect
a
Taste was unbearable. And I didn’t really feel like it made a difference
Second time (and third for my wife) we just did normal drugs water and sleep
h
Is it effective though? Been sick since Friday and no signs of improvement. Online feeds say it might need 5-7 days to start showing signs, might as well get well with tylenol or something with that time frame.
Adam - I am also in the favour of your second time, usually.
b
The biggest thing is it reduces worst impacts not make you symptom less
h
Ah
a
For people who can clear COVID by themself, paxlovid doesn’t make a difference
For those who can’t, it can be all the differnce ..
h
So the mild symptoms (light fever, cough, congestion) stay/not to helpful?
a
is it your first COVID?
are you vaccinated properly?
h
Ok. Lines with what I was thinking. I was holding off because of this and wanted a second thought.
b
I think the other thing is you need to take it early into being sick
h
Not first Covid and yes, vaccinated until the recent booster

This thread needs the feel better emoji. sad panda

NyQuil has proven to be useless for me for cough till now
Makes me sleep, sure. But doesn’t reduce cough at all
Any better OTCs?
a
Yes, tea + honey, eat honey, sip tea, rinse and repeat repeat a few times a day
h
Trying the same now. Just adding ginger and honey to it
j
halls
cough syrups
a
Dont put honey into the tea, it kinda ruin everything good in it :) just slowly eat honey from the spoon and sip the tea
j
MMHP, do you need andrii to record a gif / reel for you to show you how it’s done?
a
Tequila

I was just telling Jahnavi if I can have rum instead, known to be proven good for cold and sore throat. Showed her a few articles online too, but my case dint fly 😞
Jordan- yes, that would be gif of the flu season

Our house believes in a simple tea recipie: turmeric, thyme, honey, hot water.
b
oops sorry feel better, but the only goal of paxlovid is to remove the worst effect of covid so you definitely dont end up in hospital.
if your not in the list of people who need it, it probably will be low risk
