check out #platform-coffee! (I am yet to make one, but always love following the outputs and look forward to joining!)

This sounds like a great idea @Matheus Bona. Currently there are weekly events and you can find them here, but they’re always topic driven. If I got you right, this would be more a facilitated session in Discord or Google Meet or something, where there is open discussion, right?
m
yep correct @Clemens Jütte i think that could help introduce the subject for a lot of people 🙂
the idea is as we are a “community” we should talk more about concepts - i love the topic driven events, but if some one that still don’t know all the concepts join one of this topic events certainly will have only what the topic or tool will embrace 🙂 (my 2 cents here)
a
Agreed @Matheus Bona, I got really involved in Coffee Ops because I found the single leader driven webinar style meetups like those didn't give me the connection to others that I really wanted from a true "community". As I said, I have failed to attend the slack ones here, but they appear to be more the coffeeops style which is exciting.

We’ve had #platform-coffee in a kind of loose way, so that anyone can organise one if they’d like. But we should definitely make an official one and make it weekly…
a
Not sure it needs to be more “official” lucas 🤔
Part of what I think makes those valuable is that they are truly bottom up
r
Im up for a platform coffee. Probably during the weekend more than the week (back to back meetings most of time). But I can adapt
Every 2 weeks would be enough I think
l
Ahah I just meant structured so that people know it is there and how they can organise one if they want to incl in welcome message etc
d
@Abby Bangser I think the "official" part is just having something regularly scheduled that people can make time for. Otherwise it is a lean coffee and entirely attendee driven.
FYI @Isaac Perez
a
Yea I guess I was just concerned about taking it out of the slack channel or creating more of a sponsored feel to it. Just making it visible is great though!
c
I think official is good in this case - it gives people visibility of what is happening and someone cares for the general infra and structure that is needed. Probably add some facilitation on top - e.g. a lean coffee format needs someone driving the show. The people only need to bring the topics and themselves 🙂

So I've had a chat with @Isaac Perez who I know started a new job recently and he's all in favor of offloading some of the work of hosting the #platform-coffee. I have experience hosting (how I met Isaac, in fact) so I'll be setting up a new and more frequent series.
i
Thanks so much @David Stenglein!
