Hey everyone, I'm currently developing a tool called Pluto, which offers a unified programming interface that enables developers to seamlessly integrate infrastructure code with application code. I believe this approach could revolutionize the way we develop cloud-native applications, making the process more efficient and streamlined. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this matter. Do you think this is a step in the right direction for cloud-native app development? Your input would be greatly appreciated! For a real-world example of how Pluto can be utilized, I recommend checking out this article: https://blog.stackademic.com/how-to-bridge-the-last-mile-in-langchain-application-development-e4734ca07169. It demonstrates how Pluto can be used to simplify the development process of a LangChain app. Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Hey @Jade Zheng, only 20% of content shared by someone can be links or self promo
the rest has to be actual engagement or discussions with the community
Since this is your first post, I won’t delete it but please keep in mind

Thanks, @Luca Galante! I certainly will. I'm keen to discuss whether if unifying the infrastructure code and the application code in a single programming interface contribute to the development of cloud-native applications. Next time, I'll cut down on the details about my project and focus more on the subject matter.

@Jade Zheng have you read Platform Strategy by Gregor Hohpe? It’s a very good book that seems relevant.
j
@Pete Warnock Thank you for your recommendation. Could you please specify which part of this book you think is relevant to the method I mentioned?
p
@Jade Zheng Part IV and V, especially: abstraction, orchestration, and cloud compilers. Full disclosure, I haven’t finished the book yet. I just happened to come across this post just after reading about crossplane and seeing Winglang recently, too. To answer your question about direction, I think it makes sense in delegating ownership of the service to the engineer by empowering them to manage the full lifecycle without the cognitive overload. My biggest concern would be making sure the target platform has all of the other concerns covered: security, observability, cost…

@Pete Warnock Thank you. I will check it out soon. The concerns you raised are shared by others as well. Actually, I have made a issue recording about these concerns, I will carefully consider these issues. By the way, would you mind if I contact you to discuss any new updates or topics related to this area and project?
