Hey Scot (@Scott Corzine?) I see that you’re deactivated? So not even sure if you’ll see this response ahah but will answer anyway.
1. The day and time of the courses will be set once we close registration, as we weren’t sure what the geographic make up would be and didn’t want to set a time that didn’t make sense for most people
2. This course will focus primarily on kubernetes based IDPs, but there will be a lot of discussion about the full range of platform engineering, and we’d be happy to answer questions or point in the right direction for anyones specific circumstances
3. Our MVP model is geared towards enabling an existing team in the operations space, being tasked with building a platform. The time and people invest is kept on a level that is manageable as a side-hustle while there is not yet full buy-in to the platform for the company. The MVP itself is the outcome that enables the organization to confidently make a good decision about buying in or not. If buy-in happens, we assume that there is a fixed platform team formed, that enables the larger scope and also the members to transition into their new roles fully. There is a lot that can be done on an individual basis, but in the end an MVP and and IDP do require more than just one person - and most of the details on MVP to enterprise IDP would be in the more advanced course. Though they will be ofc covered in Fundamentals.
4. This course is not heavily focused on Humanitec products and services. We will ofc use them as needed that is what we have easy access to but they are not a mandatory part of the course
5. Th course takes a broader view on platform engineering. I’ll really emphasize that this is a platform engineering course, not a Humanitec course. It will incl Humanitec tools since that is what we have easy access to but any portal information could easily be replaced with Compass, or Backstage etc and anything Orchestrator related could as easily be about Kratix or KusionStack.
6. As a final note it’s important to understand this is not a course on any specific tool. We are not teaching how to use Backstage, or the Orchestrator. It is around the core concepts of Platform Engineering, both technical and cultural
