Hello! I was wondering if anyone happened to have any details on the Platform Engineering Fundamentals course being offered in August: https://platformengineering.org/fundamentals. I couldn't find a lot of information on the website, so I wondered if anyone here knew more details? I saw that there were weekly hour-long live sessions, but my questions specifically are: • Are there pre-recorded tutorials, reading, or video content along the way? • Is there anything like an "office hours" session, where we can have 1-1 time with the instructors to go over our platform architecture, refine ideas, etc? • Is there a course chat group or channel where we can communicate and collaborate with peers and instructors?

Hey Jeremy! Let me chime in and try to produce a few answers for you. I am hosting the tech track, so feel free to poke me on that as well, if needed. Also @Luca Galante - we should probably add this to the course description 🙂 • The sessions will be recorded but delivered live. There will be supplemental materials along the way and also homework with tutorials. • There will be Q&A time with every session. You will have asynchronous Q&A possibilities as well - see next point. • Yes - you will join a private cohort channel here in Slack where the instructors and more staff will be present for your needs.

The goal of the course is to get make sure it works for people who join every session live AND for those who can’t join live sometimes, or at all. So lots of additional stuff at different times, or async through Slack

I was also curious to learn more about this. What date will the training start? I have a trip planned in August, and I'm wondering if missing a week will be a bad thing? It says it's just 1 hr a week, but I don't know if the homework will take a lot of time? Considering this, how hard would it be to bump my enrollment to the October cohort (I've already paid)?

Regarding the content, how long does this material stay available? Is it forever?

It wouldn’t be an issue missing just one session @Mike Sigsworth, you’ll have access to the recorded sessions until the end of the course, and all homework can be consumed on demand. Plus we’ll have the channel here in Slack, and additional sessions for Q&A so it won’t be hard to get caught up.

The course starts on August 6th at 7pm @Vaibhav Parnalia, and continues each week from there. The additional Q&A + guest speaker slots are still to be confirmed
