Hey everyone. Long story, but I’m looking for a new job. I have 12 years of experience including 3 as a people manager. I’ve led a zero-downtime migration Kubernetes in a system with hundreds of thousands of MAU, a database migration to AWS Aurora, a migration from MySQL to Postgres, led development of a flutter app from idea to production in less than 3 months with a team that had no mobile experience. My most successful open source project has over 100K monthly downloads on NPM. I’ve got 4 and 6 year old boys and the pace of delivery combined with on-call requirements are not in line with my family priorities. I tried the startup thing and it was out of the frying pan into the fire. I’m considering moving to pre-sales engineering or some sort of professional service. Does anyone have any experience in making a career move like this, and/or willing to chat with me about it?
