@here why most jobs are must be on US. You realize that offering job to EU people will save jou at least 30% of your money. US sallary are so much higher than EU

It's the legal hurdle. For most US companies, hiring outside of the US would require them to understand and comply with laws that are completely unlike US employment laws.
Plenty of companies don't even hire people from states in the US that they aren't already doing business in because of the compliance difference.

So solution would be go to us, open company or get social id. Get hired and get back to EU and do remote?
j
or get hired for a US-based subsidiary that sells services to companies that need them
those companies do exist
p
> Get hired and get back to EU and do remote? This may very well be against your terms of employment. A second reason employers may not have a footprint outside of the US is data or trade secrets residency. This is similar to the first problem, different jurisdictions have different laws; but could also refer to the risk the company is willing to accept with their data or other assets

Third party companies like Deel and Oyster can help these US based companies (regarding the point about understanding local labour laws)

I've seen US companies outsource to essentially every part of the world you can think of. Even Africa and South America which are two spots I hadn't heard of in context of outsourcing until the past few years. Reasons why not usually boil down to: Culture, time zone differences, legal. If you are outsourcing anyways go to a cheaper area than EU and save more $$. Take your pick of reasons.

Thanks all

Section 174 of IRS tax law requires R&D to be amortised over 15y if performed outside the US vs 5 years inside the US

It’s also a bit simpler than all this 😁 there are more community members that are US based than EU haha so the submissions to the job board and posts here end up being a bit more US focused.

Please y'all also be aware of PEO companies. In my latest employment my contract was signed with a local company, and the US company I was hired for was dealing with them for my service. The umbrella PEO company was Papaya Globa, which supports in super easy ways hiring in many countries. There are others that work similarly. This is to say, in my view it's so easy now to hire worldwide that if you are not doing it you are missing an opportunity 🙂
