The devs I work with dont mind doing small ops work, as long as I provide them with golden paths and documentation

We heavily leverage PaaS (platform as a service) in public clouds for our teams to weed out the need for operational aspects of our traditional infrastructure teams. It has worked fairly well though it can take a lot of enablement teamwork to get teams onboarded. The main constraint is that these enablement teams are virtual teams or communities and not dedicated resources so their availability to help other teams is sometimes limited or in conflict with other priorities.
