Hi folks, looking for some help from this knowledgeable group - do you have any nice documentation/webcasts/articles/references/insights on metrics for cognitive load? One of the things we have in our mission is to reduce overall cognitive load from the organization - and we wanted to put some metrics into it, so looking for some info on the topic.

One approach is a KPI on focus time. How much focus time can you provide to the engineering community?

cognitive load can also potentially be a factor in onboarding - i'm a little skeptical about "time to first PR" as a metric (not all PRs are created equal) but that could be one thing to look at in this area another thing could be onboarding time when switching teams/areas, or "time until ready for oncall" if that's relevant for your org or teams

I prefer „time to technical possibility for first prod deploy” ;)
