If we are to follow the article’s classification of the three philosophies, my team and I are doing SRE, DevOps and Platform Engineering at the same time. I won’t talk about start-ups because we know how it goes there but in most large enterprises I’ve been, there is no clear distinction between SRE and DevOps always and when there was, SRE’s usually spent a lot more time in development alongside implementing reliability concepts and so forth.
