Hey folks - Has anyone got their hands on the gartner hype cycle for platform engineering yet? 👀 This is all I've seen so far, but looks like it will be an interesting one... Wonder how many of these predictions will be right!!!

I've read this as this is the current state (as of right now, June 2025), and then the colour of the dots will show teh speed at which they will plateau from now? E.g. FinOps is gonna plateau in 2-5 years from now according to this? Or maybe I'm reading it wrong too 🤣

I read it the same, @Naomi Lane! But I understand why @Jordan thought differently, as they have put "as of June 2025" exactly where you would expect to see the scale on the x-axis 😆

Maybe I just got lucky with employment but my jobs since 2017 covered over half of these items

What is amazing is how many of these technologies we are familiar with and using, and yet how lots of them are not widely understood or adopted out in the wild. It is sometimes difficult to understand that many of the things we take for granted are not that common, yet.
