👋 Hey HangOps — I’m David Beale, a Chicago-based Platform Engineer / SRE with 15+ years spanning backend engineering, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure. I’ve owned full SDLCs and Kubernetes platforms in fintech (currently sole SRE at PayNearMe), built demo and POC environments in presales (Dynatrace, Armory), and supported high-traffic commerce systems at places like Etsy and Glossier. My toolbox includes Kubernetes (EKS/GKE), Terraform/OpenTofu, FluxCD, GitLab/GitHub CI, Helm, Karpenter, plus a solid background in Python, Go, Ruby, and Node.js. I’m equally at home writing Terraform modules, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, or tuning observability stacks (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace). I’m currently looking for my next role — ideally Senior/Staff Platform Engineer or SRE roles where I can own infrastructure end-to-end, build great developer experience, and drive automation at scale.
