Hi <@U03HAN4RWJZ>, in your talk you mentioned you should promote freedom over autonomy and create alignment on boundaries. How to get such alignment on boundaries? I sometimes have the feeling most of the dev teams insist on their own choice of tools.

Hi Naya, yes this can be a real challenge and often requires some thought upfront especially at a leadership level. I have too often seen the free for all, and then an attempt to reign back after the fact which is hard to do! I think there can still be some flexibility within teams, but setting out your stall with a few broad tech stacks to choose from for example is a good comprise. So you may choose a Java Stack, but there is still freedom to select specific frameworks within that

At the end of the day there is a compromise to be had but surfacing this explicitly and explaining why there may be some limitation in choices is key to everyone understanding why this is the case as well.
