Hello all! Searching through the channel, wondering if anyone has opinions on tooling that you have found useful in managing inventory / assets across cloud platforms (AWS/Azure). Our organization is seeking for greater visibility into our cloud platform in hopes to inform stakeholders of things like cost, vulnerabilities, etc. First time poster. Been lurking for a few months. Happy to be here! 😄

We're using Rackspace to help manage our AWS environment, mostly for billing purposes. The can also manage GPC and Azure, so they might be able to combine assets across them. No contract, so might be worth trying out. https://partners.amazonaws.com/partners/001E0000018XK6cIAG/Rackspace

we use modularized terraform code with mandatory tag schemas/values and use billing apis to load the data into presto and run reports out of it

If you use Datadog, cloud costs integration is a great tool

We built it within AWS itself. Using AWS quicksight. AWS has a great blog on it here: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/mt/build-your-own-software-asset-governance-platform-on-aws/ It does require the SQL knowledge to build the dashboards.

If you are looking for a commercial tool that works across both the AWS and Azure clouds, I would look at CloudGuard from Checkpoint. I am sure there are others out there but I love the inventory features of CloudGuard.
