Great initiative @Gillian Nieboer, definitely up for more local hangouts. I also spy with my little 👁️ @jonny s. We hang out a bit at https://www.meetup.com/coffeeops-london if anyone wants to join us. It is actually good timing as I am hosting one in person on Dec 15 if anyone is in town!

Hi @Abby Bangser cool! I see the first in-person meetup is coming up 15th of December, did you already have a topic for it or would it just be for networking?

Yea! I suspect we will aim for one remote friendly and one in person come the new year, this is a test run for the location. Not sure how it will work with signins to get into the building 😅
We've been running since autumn 2018 and maintain a group of 5-10 each time to chat. It's a bit if a different format in that we run lean coffee. No speakers. No set topics. People write ideas on the day, we dot vote them and then we discuss.
So not quite networking only, but also not quite topic learning. I quite like the mix personally!

yeah coffeeops is my favorite meetup
it’s like condensing all the “hallway tracks” from a conference into an hour
I’ve started running my work retrospectives in the same format

Curious now, would be great to join such a coffeeops, not sure if I personally will be able to join (travelling back home for Christmas) but will share in my work slack

Awesome! 🙌 There is actually our usual remote one on Tuesday next week too. In case that fits your plans better
