It’s difficult to know specifically what happened but bringing down a production system because accidentally deleting files by a contractor shouldn’t be possible today. Platform Engineering based on modern DevOps practices should have guard rails to prevent these kinds of problems https://news.yahoo.com/human-error-caused-outage-snarled-033453954.html Thoughts?

Good design helps prevent or mitigate human error. If the Internal developer platform is well designed this kind of situation would not be possible.

If anyone has an article on "bad design" to avoid, DM me as I have a place to publish it, if it passes review. 😉
