I think the difference from the 2015/2016 Paas experiments is before we didn't have a common api to work with to abstract all the underlying primitives ( Openstack does not count lol ), now we do which gives us the ability to make a paas more open and less restrictive, although all the startups coming up, just found a new one a couple days ago ( this one is using nix packs ) are not doing that at all and falling into the same trap as before 🤷 )

I thought the same. We now have primitives to build with. There is a bit of rebuilding that needs to happen but the result is similar things built better
