Nothing wrong with that, thats the default choice across the board, Zach

I just view the ‘apply through linkedIn’ as a direct link to a trashcan
j
nope, it does work super well
i reckon maybe 80% of all leads for a given role are LI direct
if anything, it works a little too well since the LI integration makes the application process that much faster
z
makes the application process that much faster
thats why I view it with suspicion, its too easy for people to hit ‘apply’ and send off something, so my assumption is that companies are probably not looking closely at them
j
even if you were to get a human to look at it, a resume gets 3-5 seconds on average
z
ya thats why I’ve tried to rely on getting directly to having a conversation with someone
j
those are high value connections. the downside is they are a lot more limited in count

I'm curious what exactly is being discussed here. Usually when I see a job on LinkedIn (just one example), the
Apply
button just opens the job posting on Greenhouse in a new tab (or other ATS). Is there a native LinkedIn application process that I just haven't experienced yet?
z
oh I’ve never hit the button to even find out, I just figured it was some kind of linkedIn-direct-apply automation
I really just use LinkedIn as ‘free resume hosting/discovery’ and have used personal referrals and ‘concierge’ recruiter services to actually get my recent jobs
a
I think this depends on the company you are applying to. Some of the linkedin jobs will transfer me to something external where I can to pretty much do a full app and others i just have to click and it maybe asks me a HR question or two but then submits it
n
Yeah, I'm having vague memories of that Andrew. But I couldn't find an example just browsing the top 3 results on my Jobs tab
a
that job you posted tho 🤣 Maybe its just me but i see it tagged as entry level yet want some pretty advanced requirements
n
Oh I literally didn't read it
