What’s everyone’s favorite IDP portal? Looking to deploy one

As always, the answer is "it depends". Do you have significant Typescript / React knowledge in your platform team? Them consider backstage.io (or the hosted version roadie.io if you don't have the skills at that level). Otherwise, what are the features most important to you? The commercial alternatives I know all have different focuses and strength, so I can't make a general recommendation. But at least a list I've evaluated: • Atlassian Compass • port.io • cortex.io • (and obviously the ones mentioned above) Hope this helps 🙂

My favourite is build your own!

Our team has Node and React expertise along with dedicated capacity to manage custom tools. We’ve been highly interested in leveraging open-source Backstage. Our internal developer platform utilizes Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure iac, web applications, and various open-source technologies for most of our stack. We aim to enhance self-service capabilities for developer onboarding and application onboarding. Currently, we do not utilize microservices but plan to adopt them in the future. Additionally, we currently lack observability and discoverability across our services and technologies.

In that case,I would say Backstage is not a bad choice 🙂
