Hi leaders, Do you generally have a rule of thumb of when you hire SREs/ engineers with more domain knowledge in your platform teams vs genaralists/ distributed systems engineers ? The question I have is when would you hire an SRE for say data platform if you've got mostly or all managed softwares.

People can spend a ton of money on managed software if they aren’t looking for optimization opportunities - implementing those can take time and expertise. Could bed worth the trade to bring in an SRE/platform person into a data area if they bring observability, troubleshooting, and optimization to the table
