Aligning our platform goals to the broader company goals is also something we try to do in our team, it is not always easy as some times the goals not directly applicable and in that case we sometimes focus on catering to the needs of the development teams that are working towards those goals.

I've experienced the same as what you've mentioned, sometimes your platform goals are 2 or 3 levels removed from company goals, which makes it more difficult to come up with them
