Hi. Your career seems pretty varied in the experiences. What did you take from the different stages that's still applicable today? Are 90's problems still relevant today?

Yes. People always look at my huge bookshelf when I take calls from home. But it's MUCH smaller because so many books went to the garbage bin. A lot of my technical knowledge on huge subjects (OpenDOC anyone?) is no longer applicable.
But a lot of the technologies come back with a different implementation. CORBA might be relevant only in legacy systems today but the core concepts of interoperable objects and distributed computing haven't changed fundamentally. We're still solving over and over again the same set of problems that we solved in the 60s. A lot has changed but a remarkable amount of stuff is similar.
